As used herein, the term “Platform” refers to one or more structures, surfaces, members, components, assemblies, or combinations thereof configured to receive, support, carry, position, retain, organize, or provide a base or supporting region for one or more objects, components, materials, persons, or loads. A platform may be defined physically, geometrically, or functionally and need not be flat, planar, horizontal, continuous, solid, rigid, unitary, or fixed in position. A platform may include a unitary structure or one or more interconnected, adjacent, overlapping, or spatially separated members and may include a panel, tray, shelf, deck, rack, frame, grid, basket, surface, or other supporting structure. A platform may be fixed, movable, adjustable, foldable, articulated, extendable, retractable, tiltable, rotatable, or otherwise configured relative to another component, structure, space, area, support, or reference. A platform may be movable manually, through powered or assisted operation, automatically, or through combinations thereof between two or more positions, including raised, lowered, extended, retracted, deployed, folded, or stowed positions. In certain embodiments, a platform may be positioned within or associated with a vehicle or cargo area, such as a truck bed, and may be configured to support cargo above, adjacent to, or relative to a cargo floor.
