Full Desc
As used herein, the term “Support Arm” refers to one or more members, components, linkages, assemblies, structures, and/or combinations thereof having an extended dimension or operative reach and configured to support, position, guide, connect, brace, retain, space, actuate, control movement of, or otherwise interact with another component or structure. A support arm may be defined physically, geometrically, or functionally and need not be straight, elongated in every configuration, rigid, solid, unitary, arm-shaped, or configured to bear an entire load. A support arm may be fixed, movable, pivotable, translatable, telescoping, extendable, retractable, foldable, articulated, flexible, resilient, fixed-length, variable-length, and/or otherwise configured and may operate in tension, compression, bending, torsion, and/or combinations thereof. A support arm may include one or more links, bars, rods, tubes, braces, struts, cables, springs, gas springs, actuators, and/or other supporting members or structures. In certain embodiments, a support arm may form at least part of a retainer, cargo platform support structure, cover support structure, side support structure, elevation structure, and/or another supporting assembly and may support or retain a cargo platform, cargo cover, cover section, and/or another component in one or more selected positions.
