Full Desc
As used herein, the term “Translation Assembly” refers to one or more components, members, interfaces, supports, assemblies, structures, or combinations thereof configured to permit, guide, support, constrain, control, drive, resist, or otherwise facilitate movement having at least a translational component. A translation assembly may include a single component or a plurality of interconnected, cooperating, adjacent, or spatially separated components and need not produce movement along a straight path, maintain a constant orientation, or prevent rotational, vertical, lateral, longitudinal, or other movement. A translation assembly may permit continuous, intermittent, incremental, reversible, guided, unguided, manual, powered, assisted, or automatic movement along a straight, curved, angled, segmented, irregular, compound, or other path. A translation assembly may include one or more rails, tracks, channels, slides, guides, rollers, bearings, wheels, casters, glide members, low-friction interfaces, telescoping members, linkages, supports, actuators, or other structures and may remain fixed relative to a supporting structure or move with the component being translated. In certain embodiments, a translation assembly may support or facilitate movement of a cargo platform relative to a vehicle or cargo area, including movement between a retracted position, extended position, raised position, side-stowed position, or another position.
