Full Desc
As used herein, the term “Side-Stowed Position” refers to a position or configuration in which at least a portion of a component, structure, assembly, or combination thereof is located, moved, retained, or otherwise positioned toward, adjacent to, along, within, beyond, or relative to a side or side region compared with another position and/or configuration. A side-stowed position need not place the component entirely at the side, outside another structure, vertically oriented, folded, inactive, and/or removed from use, and the component may remain supported, coupled, connected, or functional while in the side-stowed position. A side-stowed position may be reached through lateral, longitudinal, vertical, rotational, folding, pivoting, translating, compound, or other movement and may represent a partial, intermediate, temporary, selected, or fully stowed position. In certain embodiments, a cargo cover, cover section, cover panel, cargo platform, translation assembly, or associated component may be positioned in a side-stowed position toward at least one side of a vehicle or cargo area, thereby increasing access to cargo, a cargo floor, cargo space, and/or another region of the cargo area.
