Full Desc
As used herein, the term “Extended Position” refers to a position or configuration, as distinguished from a corresponding retracted position or another reference position or configuration, in which at least a portion of a component, structure, assembly, and/or combination thereof is projected, advanced, lengthened, unfolded, separated, moved away from, or otherwise positioned farther from or beyond a reference region, supporting structure, component, position, and/or other reference. An extended position need not maximize an external dimension, place the component entirely outside another structure, represent a fully extended position, or correspond to an endpoint of movement. An extended position may represent a partial, intermediate, selected, temporary, and/or full degree of extension and may be reached through translational, rotational, pivoting, unfolding, telescoping, compound, and/or other movement. In certain embodiments, a cargo platform in an extended position may project longitudinally outward from or relative to a cargo area to facilitate loading, unloading, access, handling of cargo, and/or another activity and may be movable between the extended position and a retracted position by a translation assembly.
