Full Desc
As used herein, the term “Cover Support Structure” refers to one or more components, members, interfaces, supports, assemblies, structures, and/or combinations thereof configured to directly or indirectly support, position, retain, guide, couple, constrain, carry, or facilitate movement of a cover or one or more portions thereof. A cover support structure may include a single component or a plurality of interconnected, cooperating, adjacent, and/or spatially separated components and need not continuously engage the cover, bear the entire weight or load of the cover, or be physically separate from the cover or another supporting structure. A cover support structure may be formed as a separate structure, incorporated into another component or assembly, or defined physically, geometrically, or functionally as a portion of a unitary or integrated structure without a visible or separable boundary. All or part of a cover support structure may also form or function as all or part of a cargo platform support structure, side support structure, elevation structure, translation assembly, mounting structure, vehicle structure, and/or another structure. A cover support structure may include rails, tracks, frames, brackets, arms, links, hinges, pivot connections, guides, rollers, retainers, mounting members, and/or other supporting structures. In certain embodiments, a cover support structure may support one or more cargo cover sections or cover panels relative to a vehicle or cargo area, may support or guide movement thereof between closed, open, raised, side-stowed, and/or other positions, and may support the cover sections or cover panels in a folded and/or other configuration.
