As used herein, the term "Cargo Area" refers to a region of a vehicle that may be configured to receive, support, store, or transport cargo. A cargo area may be defined physically, geometrically, or functionally, and need not be enclosed, regularly shaped, or bounded entirely by conventional walls or surfaces. A cargo area may include, for example, a pickup-truck bed, trailer cargo region, utility-vehicle cargo region, flatbed cargo region, van cargo region, box-truck cargo region, or another vehicle cargo-carrying region. A cargo area may be open, partially enclosed, or fully enclosed and may have any suitable shape or configuration. In certain embodiments, a cargo area may include a cargo floor, opposing sides, a front, a rear, one or more walls or boundary regions, or combinations thereof. A cargo area may have a rectangular, square, curved, angled, irregular, or other geometry and may include, omit, or vary conventional sidewalls or boundary structures. A cargo area may define, bound, or partially bound a cargo space, as distinguished from the cargo space itself.
