"Multi-turn conversation" refers to an exchange of two and/or more sequential interactions between one and/or more participants and a computational system in which later interactions may depend at least in part on earlier interactions within the same conversational session and/or contextual history. A multi-turn conversation may include user inputs, system responses, intermediate state changes, clarifications, follow-up queries, confirmations, command executions, feedback exchanges, or the like and may be processed using stored, dynamically maintained, and/or revised contextual information. A multi-turn conversation may occur synchronously and/or asynchronously and may be conducted through textual, voice-based, multimodal, structured, semi-structured, and/or unstructured communication channels. Synonyms include conversational session, dialogue session, interactive session, multi-step interaction, conversational exchange, or the like.
