"Operational action" refers to an action, operation, execution, implementation, control activity, state change, instruction performance, command fulfillment, or other system-level activity that may be initiated, triggered, directed, and/or carried out by a computational system, device, module, process, agent, and/or hardware processing device. An operational action may include executing a command, modifying a configuration, altering a system state, invoking an application programming interface, transmitting data, retrieving data, activating and/or deactivating a component, adjusting parameters, initiating a workflow, generating control signals, enforcing a policy, or the like and may occur automatically, semi-automatically, programmatically, manually, conditionally, or in response to contextual input and/or a user query. An operational action may produce observable outputs, confirmations, acknowledgments, feedback signals, state updates, log entries, or other effects within and/or external to the system. Synonyms include executed action, system operation, implemented command, control operation, system-level activity, triggered action, or the like.
