Full Desc
“Ridge” refers to a line, edge, or elongate intersection formed where two surfaces, planes, or faces meet, often projecting or raised relative to adjacent areas. A ridge may be linear, arcuate, angular, or irregular, and may serve to concentrate forces, define cutting or abrading edges, or provide structural reinforcement. In certain embodiments, a ridge may be defined by the junction of two triangular planar surfaces of a cutting or rasping feature. Examples include the shared ridge formed between adjacent planar surfaces of a rasp feature, the raised ridge of a tooth, spike, cutting feature, or an elongate ridge formed along a surface, or the like.
