“Paddle Shape” refers to a generally widened, flattened, or elongate form resembling a blade, plate, or surface that may be used to contact, support, or engage another surface. A paddle shape may include forms that are flat, curved, contoured, rounded, tapered, or otherwise configured to provide an expanded working area relative to an adjoining stem, shank, or body portion. In certain embodiments, a paddle shape may include a curved region on a distal end, a tapered region on a proximal end, and a planar region disposed between the curved and tapered regions, thereby providing a geometry that balances access, visibility, and surface engagement. Paddle-shaped structures may be symmetrical or asymmetrical, rigid or flexible, and may serve functions such as cutting, abrading, rasping, smoothing, or supporting, depending on the instrument design. Examples include paddle-shaped feet of rasp blades, paddle-shaped ends of surgical instruments, paddle-shaped supports in fixtures, or the like.
