Full Desc
“Offset” refers to a spatial relationship in which a feature, component, or structure is displaced, shifted, or separated from another reference feature, axis, plane, or position. An offset may include lateral, transverse, radial, axial, or multidimensional displacement, or combinations thereof. The displacement may be fixed, adjustable, variable, or dynamic. An offset may coexist with an angular orientation, and an angular orientation may produce or contribute to an offset when it results in spatial separation between the referenced structures or features. Examples include lateral separation of a foot or working surface from a longitudinal axis, clearance between a shank and a heel end of a foot, radial displacement of a component from an axis, or the like.
