"Protocol" refers to a set of instructions, settings, parameters, preconditions, tools, devices components, and the like for performing a specific method or process. A protocol can have a variety or forms and/or formats and can be communicated using a variety of means, devices, and/or methods. For example, a protocol can be defined by a set of data, a set of parameters, a list of components, a list of conditions, a set of thresholds, a set of text, a series or sequence of steps and/or instructions, or any combination of these.
