"Invalid parity section" refers to a parity section that includes XOR parity data generated using data that is presently identified as invalid data. The invalid data may have become invalid data due to an update to data for the LBA associated with the data block or the invalid data may be data in word lines that previously held valid data but presently hold invalid data because the word lines are now identified as bad word lines.
