"Copy-through-controller" refers to an operation that moves or copies data from a source storage block to a destination storage block in a manner the includes transferring the physical pages from the memory die to a storage controller and then transferring the physical pages, with certain modifications to the data back from the storage controller to the memory die before storing the data of the physical pages on the destination storage block.
