"Valid parity section" refers to a parity section that includes XOR parity data generated exclusively using data that is presently identified as valid data. In one embodiment, a valid parity section includes parity bins that each include XOR parity data generated exclusively using data that is presently identified as valid data.In certain embodiments, an invalid parity section may be converted into a valid parity section by performing a reverse XOR operation on the invalid parity section using the invalid data used to generate the invalid parity section.
