Figure 6A is a perspective view of a lateral bone plate 600 deployed on a long bone, such as a femur 102, according to one embodiment. The lateral bone plate 600 includes a body 602, a proximal end 604, and a distal end 606. The body 602 is configured to contact a lateral surface of a shaft 608 of a long bone, such as a femur 102. The proximal end 604 of the lateral bone plate 600 includes a first connector 610 and the distal end 606 of the lateral bone plate 600 includes a second connector 612.
