In certain embodiments, the intramedullary nail 100 and/or intramedullary nail system 200 can be deployed on a long bone that includes a prosthesis such as a knee prosthesis, a hip prosthesis, and/or one or more fixation prosthesis. Alternatively, or in addition, the intramedullary nail 100 and/or intramedullary nail system 200 can be deployed on a long bone that has no prosthesis (i.e., a native long bone, no joint or fixation prostheses).
