The storage request to read the data segment, in one embodiment, is associated with the storage request and serves to confirm that the storage request has been successful. In another embodiment, the request to read the data segment is independent from the storage request and may be initiated by the requesting device 1326 that made the storage request or another separate requesting device 1326.
