In one embodiment, the storage request includes a token directive to store the data segment token where the storage request is free from data of the data segment. In another embodiment, the storage request includes data from the data segment and the method includes generating a token directive to create the data segment token from the data segment. The token directive is created in response to the storage request to store the data segment.
