The distal end 122 of the upper endplate 110 is an end of the upper endplate 110 that first enters the space between two vertebral bodies as a surgeon installs the expandable intervertebral implant 100. In certain embodiments, the distal end 122 of the upper endplate 110 is near an end of the expandable intervertebral implant 100 that includes the distal wedge 116.
