As will be discussed in more detail later, the upper lattice 310 and lower lattice 320 enable expansion of the first lattice 130 and the second lattice 140 away from each other along a medial-lateral axis (shown in Figure 5A). In this manner, the expandable intervertebral implant 300 is configured to expand in four directions when the expansion mechanism 160 is activated.
