However, the positioning guide 880 may include distal and proximal holes that engage with the proximal alignment feature 944 and the distal alignment feature 946 such that sliding the positioning guide 880 towards the bones along proximal alignment feature 944 and the distal alignment feature 946 brings the bones and these two features into alignment with each other along the longitudinal axis of the first metatarsal 208.
