In one embodiment, certain pins for bone attachment features 1828 such as those for the tibia 226 may remain in the bone. FIG. 21B illustrates that the curved osteotomy 2100 has been formed on or near a superior surface of the talus 222. In certain embodiments, this curved osteotomy 2100 can be used for or by other instruments during the surgical procedure.
