Those of skill in the art will appreciate that a resection guide 720 may include one or more bone attachment features 724. Certain bone attachment features 724 may be positioned to engage with a resected segment, wedge, or bone fragment such as, for example, auxiliary bone attachment feature 752 and other bone attachment features 724 may engage with remaining bones or bone segments after resection. Furthermore, the resection guide 720, such as example resection guide 720, may include bone attachment features 724 that are strategically positioned in the resection guide 720 to serve as trajectory guides, attachment points, compression anchors, distraction anchors, reduction guides or the like. For example, bone attachment features 724 and the pins that can be strategically placed in a way that following the wedge resections, the pins can then be manipulated to aid in the reduction/correction of the osteotomies using specialized instrumentation and/or customized instrumentation or segmental compression blocks.
